Hi, I'm Nino...
Reporter. Writer. Recent college graduate.
Thank you so much for visiting my digital portfolio.
I am based in New York, NY, where I am a graduate student at New York University's Business and Economic Reporting Journalism program.
I recenlty moved from Washington, D.C., where I worked at Marketplace, the world-renowned business and economics news program broadcast on national public radio.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Oregon State University with a BA in creative writing and journalism in June 2023, I started an intern reporting position at The Observer in La Grande, Ore. I was awarded this position through the University of Oregon Charles Snowden Program for Excellence in Journalism, and am eminently thankful to have the privilege of reporting local news in an often overlooked community.
I just love to write. Not only does journalism serve as a community-oriented outlet where I can exercise this passion, it has quickly become a career I'd like to pursue. Responsibilities such as speaking with people of all statuses, backgrounds, demographics and privilege, investigating happenings and trends within communities and developing thorough, fact-driven copy have opened my eyes to the importance — and fun! — of reporting.
Besides The Observer, I am published in a number of web and print publications, including Yahoo News, Oregon Capital Insider, The Bend Bulletin, Salem Capital Press, The East Oregonian, The Hermiston Herald, The Wallowa County Chieftain, The Baker City Herald and Blue Mountain Eagle.
I hope some of my stories collated here from various reporting positions resonate with you, and feel free to reach out to me about anything.
I am best reached by email: ninopaoli65@gmail.com.

I'm a reporter for The Observer in La Grande, Ore., which is the leading print and online newspaper in the Union and Wallowa counties. Previously, I was an award-winning reporter for The Daily Barometer at Oregon State University and a College of Liberal Arts writer. After earning a BA in creative writing and minor in journalism at OSU in June 2023, I am pursuing a full-time career as a journalist and writer. My interests in writing range from genre fiction to science journalism.
